For two periods against Hull Stingrays last Saturday, I thought we were outstanding.
But it doesn't matter how hard mentally you try and play a hard third period when you are 7-1 up, your subconscious relaxes.
When I look back now, I realise we took that sloppy third period lackadaisical form into Manchester Phoenix' rink.
And
lost.
I can't believe that in two games against the Phoenix we are yet to register a victory.
I know we took a point by taking the game to overtime, but if we are to challenge for the League we do have to win those games.
This week in training there have been no panics, but as last week there has been an urgency in the tempo to our practices.
We know this weekend we are expected to pick up four points with tomorrow's match at Hull and then Basingstoke at the Arena on Sunday.
If David Matsos has told us once, he has told us a thousand times, that hockey is a 60-minute game and the way we play we have to play hard for the entire time.
We can't take a shift off otherwise we lose momentum.
I promise you one thing this weekend: we'll play hard for 120 minutes, return four points to our table, climb the League standing and ensure that we are ready for Belfast and Nottingham next weekend .
