AFTER last week's talk of clubs switching managers, there is a similar tale this week with players.
Hallam manager Darren Bland has paraded four new signings, one an 'old boy' in Dinnington Town centre back Matt Griffin who returns to Sandygate after four years away.

Then a hat-trick of midfield players moved in – Parkgate's Richard Patterson wa
s quickly followed by Darren Holmes, after a good run at Sheffield Club, and local lad Tom Kotylo from local football.

But one player not moving is Hallam's 33-goal leading scorer from last season, James Tevendale who brushed aside big offers from other clubs to sign a new year-long contract with the Blues.

Boss Bland said: "It is a great boost to the club." He promptly made his four signings and they should better last season's seventh place, possibly with a crack at the title.

Promoted Dinnington Town, at their highest ever level next season, took two big blows with Griffin's departure and top scorer Ant Lynam moving to Shirebrook.

Manager Steve Toyne must be a bitterly disappointed at losing two top-class players but he moved quickly to sign Parkgate striker Gavin Allott, who joins brother Grant at Phoenix Park, and also Gary Hibbert from the Steelmen. He promises more new faces.

Sheffield Club's new manager Chris Dolby swooped quickly with three signings.

Moving in are 22-year-old defender Greg Wright from Retford Town – back at Club after three years – sought-after winger Matt Outram from Parkgate and midfield dynamo Steve Woolley from Retford United after spells with Lincoln United and Alfreton Town.

But a setback was skipper Tom Jones signing for David Holdsworth's Ilkeston Town.

Gary Marrow, the Stocksbridge Park manager, is pleased that coveted duo Alvin Riley (last season's leading scorer) and striker Carl Fothergill have signed new one-year contacts and new signings are promised.

Behind the scenes, club chairman Alan Bethel continues to lead the club well and to some new pastures.

They have another new sponsor in Tankersley Manor Hotel and Spa on a two- year deal.
The sponsorship includes new billboards and matchday advertising and Tankersley general manager Stuart Downing says they are pleased to back the club, acknowledged as the top grassroots community club in South Yorkshire.

Alan thanked Tankersley Manor for their support of the club who provide football for over 400 boys, girls, youths and men making up 22 squads.

Stocksbridge have also launched a new website, the first club to be involved in a web partnership link with the providers via the Unibond League.

Their much-praised match day programme will have a new front cover and they will be the first Unibond club to have a different front page picture each home game – further indication of the club's progress and forward thinking.

Ex-Stocksbridge full back Simon Marples, who played for Doncaster Rovers for three seasons and Chester City, has signed for Alfreton Town and joins ex-Rovers teammate Leo Fortune West who was also with Rotherham United.

lBoth Hallam and Parkgate have lost their physios and anyone interested should contact Hallam secretary Mark Radford on 0114 2309484 or Parkgate secretary Bruce Bickerdike on 01709 522305.
