Sheffield Stormers lived up to their name with a storming start to their Sheffield Winter League campaign.
The first team's hopes of retaining their Division One title received a massive boost with a comprehensive 42-16 win over Hallam at the English Institute of Sport.
Jenny Rowland and Liz Wilson were the star performers against last season's runners
-up who had a number of key players out through injury.
Ann Proctor shot superbly to guide Sheffield Open to victory over D&P in their Division One clash while Concord 1, inspired by Jo Smith and Rachael Radford, beat newly promoted DVC.
It was a different story for Stormers' Premier and Regional League sides. In the Premier they went down 62-33 to Elmdon while the Regional team slipped to a 42-36 defeat against York Thunder despite excellent play by Marlene Ellis at wing defence.
Meanwhile the Sheffield team, who were promoted to Premier Division 2, struggled to find form against Hertford Hornets and were beaten 55-37.

Stormers recently raised over £500 for their chosen charity PACT.
