All Saints celebrate Jordan's world record grand slam

IT was sporting occasion with a world record 'grand slam' feel for pupils at a Sheffield School.

Jordan Ramos, the world record trampoline slam dunk holder from Chapeltown, was the celebrity guest at the Sports Achievement awards evening at All Saints School.

And the 13-year-old made it a night to remember when he unofficially broke his own mark with a 'jump' of 7.5 metres.

Jordan set the existing record for the longest and highest slam dunk back in April when he travelled forward seven metres from a trampoline to sink the ball into the 10ft high net.

Headmaster Bob Sawyer said: "The Sports Achievement evening continues to be one of the highlights at the school. This year was no exception and was further enhanced by Jordan's incredible world record attempt. The astonishment of the audience was palpable as he successfully beat his own world record."

The boys under-16 badminton team of Martin Drabble, William Lambert, William Green, Luke Stewart, Warren Tomlinson, Jordan Williamson, Ivo Bravo, Ross Macinnes, Jonathon Bloomer, Bradley Saynor, Daniel Mines and James Godfrey received their school colours.

The inclusive athletics team of Matthew Heyes, Jack Denton, Emma Clay, Tonisha Roberts and Niall Guite won numerous individual Links Partnership events while the Y8 boys basketball team of Liam Mensah, Fraser House, Connor Buchanan, Greg Knowles, Benjahmin Thompson and Arinzechukwu Okoh qualified for the city finals only to narrowly lose to the eventual winners.
