The Sheffield Athletics Festival, which began life at Don Valley in 1994, is on Sunday at Woodbourn Road.
There are graded events for all age groups, including a good range for disability athletes.
The sprints have attracted some good quality athletes headed by Doncaster junior Joe Mrath who is listed for the 100m and 200m. Tim Burn (City of Sheffield), a 400m specialist, has also entered for the shorter distances whilst Billie Jo Harris (City of Sheffield), a U17 sprinter, is another who should impress.
Lee Thompson (Rotherham) looks the pick of the 400m runners whilst U17 Oliver Dane (City of Sheffield) in the 800 and U20 Connor Milnes (Hallamshire) in the 1500 should be prominent.
Pole Vault star Adam Hague is expected to be in action for what should, in effect, be a demonstration. He holds the UK junior record with 5.60.
Hague’s club, The Dearne ALC, has now merged with City of Sheffield. The new club will be called City of Sheffield and Dearne AC.
Sunday’s meeting starts at 10:30 (field) and 11:30 (track).
A 10K road race has traditionally been part of this festival but a suitable course has not been found.
