Sheffield Sharks are closing in on signing an American shooting guard as their squad building continues for the new BBL season.
The Star understands the Sharks have offered a contract to a player who played last season in Germany.
Another name in the frame is Gideon Gamble, who graduated from university in America, this year.
But it seems likely the Sharks will opt for a more experienced player to take a key role in their team.
Meanwhile, last season’s point guard BJ Holmes said he would welcome a return to the club.
In a message to The Star he said: “I have been in contact with the Sharks and Atiba (Lyons, Sharks coach) as well. (I’d) come back to Sheffield and hit up Meadowhall, didn’t have enough time last time so might have unfinished business!”
Holmes’ backcourt partner Nick Lewis scored 13 points on Tuesday night as Great Britain Under-20s secured their eighth win of their summer programme 87-66 over Holland.
