Sheffield Sharks coach Atiba Lyons is urging his team not to undo their good work from the first leg when they play their decisive second match at Leicester Riders on Friday night.
Sharks hold an 11-point first leg lead (79-68) from Wednesday’s game in the play-offs first round.
But Leicester, who finished second in the BBL regular season standings, have the talent and scoring power to provide Sharks with real problems.
Lyons said: “You have to just play the game. It’s not an insurmountable lead like 40 or 50 points. We have to show up and do the work. It’s 11 points, it’s four possessions.
“Everyone is excited, we’ve won at home and it was a great win but it’s kind of irrelvent if we don’t do the same kind of performance again.”
Lyons will be hoping his team can turn in another stellar defensive display but warned it will be tough.
He said: “It’s easier said than done. They missed some shots they should have made and we definitely did a good job on them. We can’t have a high-scoring game like we had the last time we were at their place.”
