HOT prospect Kid Galahad says his respect for his vastly more experienced opponent will end the moment they step into the ring on Saturday.

The Sheffield superbantamweight contests the WBC international title with veteran Jason Booth in Rotherham. It’s a first title tilt for Galahad.

But for Nottingham’s Booth, it is his 23rd title fight in a career that dates back to 1996, when Kid was only 15.

The Shiregreen fighter said: “Booth has had 20 title fights. Ofcourse experience can count, he knows every trick in the trade. He is clever, he doesn’t go out to get hit and thinks about everything he does. At 34, people have criticised him but he always comes back and proves them wrong.

“He has boxed people like Steve Molitor (former IBF world champion) and I respect his achievements over the years” said the 10-fight Ingle man.

“But that respect ends when we get in the ring. After the fight he will say that I was the best opponent he has ever fought. I don’t expect an easy fight but I am not letting him take this away from me.”

The Star backed bout is at The Magna. Tickets are £30, £50, £75. Call 0114 256 5567, 01925 755 222 or visit www.hennessysports.com
