Kell Brook hasn’t had much good to say about tonight’s opponent Carson Jones.
But the Sheffield fighter, who faces the American, for a second time in a year, recognises he’s made of strong stuff.
“I hit him with a few good shots last time and he stayed there, so he’s durable. He gave me my hardest fight but that was due to my own doing.”
Brook hadn’t physically prepared well for their last fight. Things are different now. And his mental strength has also impressed his conditioning coach, Dave Hembrough.
“Kell is very confident. Things most people would find potentially difficult - like the walk to the ring with the TV and fanfare, is all in a day’s work for him.
“He has a great mind-set,” said Hembrough.
Fellow city boxer Ross Burkinshaw believes Brook is in for an early night, in Hull.
“He has beaten him before and I believe he will beat him again, only quicker. He knows what he has got to do and I believe he’ll do it early.
