Chesterfield: Double signing for Spireites

Boss Paul Cook

Spireites manager Paul Cook has brought in two teenagers to boost his squad.

Manchester City left winger Alex Henshall and Barnsley midfielder Jordan Clark have both signed emergency loan deals, initially for a month.

Henshall, aged 19, moved to City from Swindon Town in 2010 and he’s played for England at under-17 level. Last year he was placed on alert for the 2012 British Olympic football team by manager Stuart Pearce, but missed out on the final 18-man squad. Mark Robins was believed to have been after him last month when he was still at Coventry.

Clark, also 19, is a product of Barnsley’s academy and he’s made one first-team start plus half a dozen appearances off the bench.

Both are available for this afternoon’s home game with Gillingham.
