Any remaining promotion or relegation issues were settled in the final week of the MPH Joinery Yorkshire & Derbyshire League last weekend as new Division One champions, Holmesfield ended their campaign with a win.
Holmesfield’s (215 all out) season is not quite over though as they prepare for the Winston’s Twenty20 Cup finals day on Saturday, but after sealing their second League title two weeks ago, they finished with victory over Appleknowle (166-9).
Sheffield University Staff will also be a part of the finals day along with Hollinsend Methodist and Parkhead.
Staffs, who have finished second, made light work of relegated Hundall losing just a single wicket as the visitors struggled to 88-8.
Ashford in the Water sealed promotion back to Division One with the title after only losing four wickets en route to victory against Weston Park (76 all out). Sheffield Civil Service are also up despite losing to Calver.
In Division Three, Totley (113 all out) came out on top against Hallam in the battle of the already promoted sides to secure the title. Totley bowled out Hallam for just 86.
Matters at the foot of the division were settled as Ridgeway were relegated despite winning.
Ridgeway claimed an outright two wicket victory after bowling out Stocksbridge for 106, however Whittington Wanderers won too against Dronfield Woodhouse to survive by just three points.
