No doubt about the top game locally tomorrow and it might be regarded as the most attractive one in Yorkshire.
It’s the big Premier Division clash between leaders Wickersley and second-placed Whitley Hall in the South Yorkshire League at Northfield Lane.
Both are making a big bid for the title with Wickersley looking to recreate their glory years when they were the league’s leading side and champions seven times from 1995 to 2005, the year of their last title.
Whitley have been champions once, in 2010, but were Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions in 2011 and last year.
It will be an intriguing clash with Whitley’s prolific batting line-up, including two of the division’s top three run scorers in Jaco Castle, 502 runs, and Chris Siddall, 474 runs, facing a Wickersley attack with the division’s leading wicket takers in Muhammed Naveed, 35 wkts, and Lesroy Weekes, 29 wkts.
Wickersley’s promising young left handed batsman Jordan Bethel is in fine form and lies third in the league averages with 337 runs at 56.17.
