Cycling: Tough day for Adam as Paolini leads

Sheffield’s Adam Blythe said “it was a hard day out” on the 222km ride from Sorrento to Marina di Ascea in the Giro d’Italia yesterday.

Blythe came home 17 minutes after stage winner Luca Paolini (pictured), who takes the leader’s maglia rosa from Salvatore Puccio. Sir Bradley Wiggins is second. Today’s fourth stage is 246km from Policastro Bussentino to Serra San Bruno.
