England midfielder Jordan Nobbs scored twice as Arsenal Ladies lifted the FA WSL Continental Cup before more than 5,000 fans at Rotherham’s New York Stadium yesterday.

A 3-0 win in the final for the Gunners was sealed by a late solo strike from Chioma Ubogagu, as Notts County Ladies suffered a second cup final loss this season having lost to Chelsea at Wembley in the Women’s FA Cup final.

County captain Laura Bassett, whose own goal condemned England to a World Cup semi-final exit at Japan’s hands, was sent off in the 34th minute for a meaty challenge on Vicky Losada.

County assistant boss is ex-Owls and Barnsley striker Colin Walker.
