Barnsley have appointed John Vaughan as the club’s new goalkeeper coach.
The 50-year-old’s arrival bolsters manager Lee Johnson’s backroom staff in time for the start of pre-season training.
He was part of Birmingham City’s coaching staff under Lee Clark until August 2014, having also worked under him at Huddersfield.
Vaughan brings a vast amount of Football League experience to Oakwell, having made over 400 appearances in an 18-year playing career with the likes of Fulham, Cambridge and Preston.
He will oversee what promises to be an extremely competitive battle for the No 1 jersey between Ross Turnbull and Adam Davies.
“I’m really looking forward to working with Lee Johnson and the rest of the staff and players,” said Vaughan.
“It’s a genuinely exciting time for everyone connected with the club. We have got some really talented players, including our goalkeepers, and I can’t wait to get cracking for the new campaign.”
