Sheffield United’s promotion odds continue to drift with Football League sponsor Sky Bet after their winless run was extended to four matches at Fleetwood.
Having been as short as 13/8 following their last Sky Bet League 1 victory, a 1-0 win at Doncaster on November 15, the Blades are now out to 3/1 to be playing Championship football next season.
Nigel Clough’s men sit fifth in both the table and the betting following Saturday’s stalemate, with Bristol City clear favourites at just 2/5 to go up and 11/8 to win the league.
Chesterfield and Doncaster fans will be more concerned with the relegation market after suffering home defeats to Bradford and Gillingham respectively. They are currently rated 8/1 and 15/2 to go down.
Barnsley are also shorter odds to be relegated than promoted after losing 3-1 at Walsall, with all three sides stuck in the bottom half of the table.
In the Sky Bet Championship, neither Sheffield Wednesday nor Rotherham could muster a win or even a goal between them.
The Owls are out to 18/1 for promotion after losing 1-0 at home to Wolves, while Rotherham are currently just 13/8 for the drop as they hover worryingly above the relegation zone.
