A RELEGATION crunch match will see third-bottom Sheffield United away at second-bottom Scunthorpe tonight as the two teams fight for Championship survival, writes digital editor Graham Walker.
And Blades manager Micky Adams is still seeking a first win 10 games into his reign.
Crystal Palace were the latest side to frustrate Adams’ troops, winning 1-0 at Selhurst Park on Saturday after a Darren Ambrose goal which lifted the Eagles five points clear of relegation danger.
Adams told www.sufc.co.uk: “Obviously, it hurts more to lose when I am managing the club I supported, but it’s true that when you lose you want to play again as soon as possible to put it right, so we go to Scunthorpe on Tuesday with renewed determination.
“I have to be honest and say that I have never gone as long without a win as this and that is a challenge in itself.
“I have reminded the players that I have been in similar situations as manager at other clubs and turned things round - Fulham were 91st in the Football League, and Coventry were in the bottom three in the Championship.”
Meanwhile, League One side Sheffield Wednesday are away at Bournemouth, while Championship team Barnsley face Leeds in the night’s big Yorkshire derby and Doncaster Rovers play at Norwich.
League Two leaders Chesterfield are away at Bradford.
