Sheffield United booked their place in the third round of the FA Cup after a comfortable victory over Skrill Premier league leaders Cambridge United this afternoon.

Goals either side of half-time from Jose Baxter and Jamie Murphy ensured United will be in the hat for the next round of the tournament. The third round draw takes place later today.

Baxter claimed his second goal in United colours since joining the League One outfit from Oldham Athletic for an undisclosed fee at the end of August while it was substitute Murphy’s first strike since last February.

Blades boss Nigel Clough made two enforced alterations to his starting line-up, handing first-team recalls to Ryan Flynn and Simon Lappin. The duo came in for Tony McMahon, who missed on the trip due to suspension, and Aidy White, who was unavailable for selection under the terms of his loan deal from Leeds United.
