Just the job says Will

WILL Hoskins has set his sights on firing Sheffield United towards promotion after completing a loan move to Bramall Lane.

Hoskins, who started his career with neighbours Rotherham, could make his United debut when Danny Wilson’s side visit Colchester this weekend.

Having described his temporary transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion as “a no-brainer,” the former England Under-20 international told The Star: “My aims are to score goals and get this club back into the Championship.

“When my agent said that United were interested in me then it really was a no-brainer. I just want to play football and the prospect of doing that for a club like Sheffield United meant it was something I was never going to turn down.

“Having started my career at Rotherham, I’m well aware of how big a club this is. Impressions like that stay with you throughout your career and I can’t wait to get going.”

United, who last night allowed winger Erik Tonne to join York City on loan until the summer, introduced Hoskins to his new team mates at Shirecliffe yesterday.

Albion signed the 25-year-old eight months ago after watching him score 20 goals in 44 league appearances for Bristol Rovers but a spate of niggling injuries have hampered his progress since.

Hoskins, who will spend the rest of the season with Wilson’s squad, said: “There are some quality strikers here so I can’t take my place for granted but that’s good. I know how highly the manager is thought of and you can tell there’s a really good atmosphere behind the scenes.”
