Sheffield United's match against Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium and Barnsley's visit to Bury have been postponed due to the heavy rains which have hit the north of England

A statement was posted on Wigan's official twitter account at 9.30am and read: "GAME OFF: After a pitch inspection by the referee, the surface here at the DW has been deemed unplayable and potentially dangerous."

Two League One fixtures have been postponed in the Lancashire and Greater Manchester area, with Blackpool v Oldham at Bloomfield Road washed out due to a waterlogged pitch, as was Rochdale v Crewe and inspections planned at a number of other grounds.

League Two has been the worst hit so far with games between Hartlepool and Notts County, Morecambe and Mansfield and Accrington and Carlisle all off due to waterlogged pitches.
