Sheffield Wednesday v Huddersfield
As Ian McCulloch and Echo and the Bunnymen once sang, 'nothing ever lasts forever' and so, disappointing as it was, not least coming against struggling Charlton, there was an inevitability about Wednesday's defeat before the international break. Now they face a different challenge in the Terriers, with the leash picked up by David Wagner, who definitely wasn't on X-Factor. The rest will have done Carlos and his men a lot of good. Prediction: Sheffield Wednesday 1 Huddersfield 0
Leeds United v Rotherham
It shouldn't really be surprising that Steve Evans' arrival at Elland Road has sparked something of a revival...whether you like him or not, he gets results. At Millers, one of the two million Leeds managers who preceded Evans, Neil Redfearn is having a trickier time. However, there have been a few new faces in the door this week - players of experience and they could just provide the lift needed. Prediction: Leeds United 1 Rotherham United 1
Walsall v Sheffield United
It's one thing bemoaning bad luck, but Nigel Adkins would never use it as as excuse for too long. United were unfortunate last week in hitting the woodwork three times against Southend but they still should have won the game. There's a tricky period coming up and the Blades have to make sure they don't slip too far off the pacesetter. They take on a team in form today but a scrappy win would be perfect for United. Prediction: Walsall 1 Sheffield United 2
Doncaster Rovers v Rochdale
Darren Ferguson seems to have got Rovers moving and having flirted with a potential relegation battle, there'll be an eye on the top six as a genuine possibility of the improvement continues. Another win today would increase that belief. Prediction: Doncaster Rovers 1 Rochdale 0
Oldham v Barnsley
When you're desperate for a win, then going to your old club, a place in which you didn't exactly leave on good terms, isn't ideal. It could be a blessing, though and if the players want their manager to remain in a job then today would be a very good time to start showing it. Prediction: Oldham 0 Barnsley 1
Port Vale v Chesterfield
If ever a match seemed destined for a draw then this is it. Prediction: Port Vale 2 Chesterfield 2
