DANNY Wilson is anxiously waiting to find out the full extent of Jamie Murphy’s groin injury.
The Sheffield United boss has hinted the talented attacker, who has scored in two of his last three outings, will play no part in their clash at Oldham Athletic this weekend.
Wilson said: “It’s too early to say how long Jamie will be out but I’d rather him miss one or two than six or seven.
“We only found out about it on Monday night. It’s too early to really know how long he could be missing.”
Doncaster Rovers midweek victory at Shrewsbury Town nudged United off top spot as Wilson’s men were held to a goalless draw against Leyton Orient at Bramall Lane. Although disappointed not to pick up maximum points for the fith match on the trot, Wilson refused to dwell on the negatives.
“It was disappointing not to win but it was also important that, if we couldn’t do that, not to lose and keeping another clean sheet was a plus,” he commented.
“We’ve kept the unbeaten run going though and that’s important. You need that consistency at this stage. We’ve got that, despite the frustrations against Orient. Others haven’t.”
