DANNY Wilson, the Sheffield United manager, has revealed a change of mood behind the scenes has been the catalyst for his team’s improved form, writes James Shield.
United entertain Colchester tomorrow fifth in the League One table having posted back to back wins away from home but searching for their first win at Bramall Lane since Boxing Day.
Wilson said: “We’re approaching things with a slightly different mentality. We’ve thrown the shackles off and are just going to go out there and play because we’ve got the ability to do that.
“Yes, there’s expectation here. So why put more pressure on the players?
“Let’s have a real blast straight from the off. Right from the first minute and see what that brings.”
Beating Joe Dunne’s charges would mark another significant step forward in the quest to secure a top two finish. However the visitors, placed 20th, have won three of their last four outings.
“This is solely about us,” Wilson added. “And I mean that with all due respect to Colchester who have had some really good results lately and will come here wanting another one.
“I just want us to focus on how we play. Not anyone else.”
