Sheffield United: Lane boss wary of U’s danger

Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough has warned his players that Colchester United will be looking for revenge when the two teams collide tonight.

United have already triumphed once at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this season, beating the U’s 3-2 in the first round of the FA Cup last November in Clough’s third match at the helm.

Colchester, lying in 16th position in the League One standings, are, like United, just three points above the drop zone and Clough expects it to be another tricky assignment.

He told The Star: “I think our win at their place will give them [Colchester] an added incentive. We went there and scored three goals.

“We had it when we played Gillingham. They turned us over at Bramall Lane and we weren’t too pleased with that.

“Players certainly remember who they’ve lost to, especially at home.

Stephen McGinn (back) is a major doubt but Clough is confident Ryan Flynn (back) will be passed fit to play.
