Sheffield United have not made an approach for Connor Sammon, The Star understands.
Despite reports to the contrary, sources at the iPro Stadium last night reported the Derby County centre-forward has not been the subject of interest from Bramall Lane so far this summer as Nigel Clough looks to increase the attacking options at his disposal.
Clough, who managed the Championship club before taking charge of United in October, signed Sammon during his reign in the east Midlands.
However, Clough has indicated that Kieron Freeman is among those players under consideration after impressing during a recent loan spell with United.
Freeman, a Wales under-21 international, made 12 appearances following County’s decision to let him join Clough’s squad on a temporary basis in March.
