Sheffield United have completed the signing of Chris O’Grady on emergency loan.
The centre-forward is scheduled to remain at Bramall Lane until January after arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Nigel Clough, the United manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring Chis in. What you see is what you get with him and he’s an experienced professional who we are confident will fit straight in and do well.”
O’Grady, who featured on United’s wanted-list during the close season before joining the Championship club, could make his debut against Notts County tomorrow evening despite carrying what Clough described as “a slight knock.”
Fellow strikers Michael Higdon and Marc McNulty are both available for selection after overcoming facial and hamstring complaints respectively.
“We’ll see how Chris is,” Clough said. “The last thing we or he wants is to go in too early and then have to sit games out. We might wait until MK Dons come here (on Tuesday) before putting him in.”
