Rob Edwards, the Tranmere Rovers manager, wants James Wallace to decide whether he is staying at Prenton Park within 48 hours.
As The Star revealed earlier this month, Sheffield United are confident of signing the midfielder after his contract with the League Two club expired although Edwards acknowledges there is still a faint possibility of him remaining in the North-West.
“I’m going to try and sort that out this week,” Edwards said. “I want that to be sorted sooner rather than later but I don’t know the actual deadline on it.”
United are believed to have reached a provisional agreement with Rovers over a compensation fee with personal terms still under discussion.
