Sheffield United skipper Jay McEveley says Sheffield United demonstrated their 'strong mentality' in grabbing a late win over Crewe on Good Friday.

The Blades had been 2-0 up and cruising thanks to a goal in each half from Che Adams and Ryan Flynn, however Nigel Adkins's side allowed the bottom-of-the-table Railwaymen to get back into the game.

Goals from David Fox and Harry Davis looked like plundering an unlikely point for Crewe until Billy Sharp's winner with a few minutes remaining sent relief around Bramall Lane.

McEveley admitted United 'didn't deal well' with Crewe's second half resurgence but praised the fight shown to, in the end, take all three points.

"In the second half they came out, went three up front and Crewe just went 'if we are going to lose we might as well lose by a couple' and put us under pressure," he said.

"I don't think we dealt with that well enough but it shows we have a very strong mentality to concede a two-goal lead then come up with the winner."
