Rotherham United have signed former Sheffield Wednesday right-back Lewis Buxton.

Rotherham United have signed former Sheffield Wednesday right-back Lewis Buxton.

The 31-year-old was released by the Owls at the end of last season after making 206 appearances for them.

Buxton, who can also play at centre-half, becomes the second Hillsborough old boy to join the Millers, after the signing two weeks ago of left-back Joe Mattock.

Buxton is manager Steve Evans’ third summer capture, following Mattock and former Leeds United midfielder Aidy White into AESSEAL New York Stadium.

He will report for pre-season training with the rest of the Millers squad next week.
