Former Rotherham United boss Andy Scott brings his Aldershot Town to the Proact Stadium this evening.
The 31-year-old had been only a non-playing sub up to last weekend, but his 90-minute appearance and subsequent clean sheet means he’s all but certain to feature from the start tonight.
The win means the Hampshire club have picked up seven points from their last three games and that’s seen them move out of the bottom two.
The Spireites will be looking to post their first win double of the season after a 1-0 win at the Recreation Ground but they’ll need to improve their firepower after two consecutive blanks in front of goal.
Marc Richards, without a goal in his last six games, is under pressure to retain his place in the line-up while Armand Gnanduillet, missing for the 1-0 home defeat against leaders Gillingham with an abductor muscle strain, is again expected to be absent.
Drew Talbot and Jay O’Shea supported Richards in attack but there was little potency until left-winger Alex Henshall came off the bench for his debut. The Manchester City loanee looks a certain starter tonight while Jack Lester could well be recalled, though it would be unlikely that he would partner Richards.
The Spireites are nine points off a League Two play-off place.
