Former Sheffield Wednesday player Ritchie Humphreys is relishing the challenge of helping Chesterfield climb out of League Two after today penning a one-year deal with the Derbyshire club.
Humphreys, who impressed during a trial spell, said: “I’ve been so impressed with the players, management team and facilities here and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a fantastic club.”
Manager Paul Cook feels Humphreys will be a very useful addition to the squad.
He said: “Ritchie’s had a good career and we’re delighted he has agreed to join us.
“He has trained with us and showed great professionalism with a superb attitude to training. He’ll offer cover in various positions.”
