IT IS every youngster’s dream to play at Wembley and for King Ecgbert School’s Under-13 girls football team that dream is about to become reality. Representing Sheffield United in the npower Football League Under-13 Girls six-a-side competition, King Ecgbert’s qualified for the Grand Final after beating Laurence Jackson School (representing Middlesbrough FC), Shelfield Community Academy (Walsall) and Wilmslow High School (Stockport County) in the North regional final at Huddersfield.The girls now face Queen’s School (representing Watford FC) in a bid to be crowned national champions in front of tens of thousands of fans ahead of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley on Sunday, April 3.
