CHESTERFIELD came from behind to win a point at home to Morecambe - despite having their goal scorer sent off later in the game.

Conor Townsend curled a free kick to draw the Spireites level in the first half.

But in the second half he was shown the red card for an aerial challenge with Shrimps skipper Will Haining.

Chris McCready gave the visitors the lead against the run of play after half an hour but Chesterfield stood up to the physical battle that followed.

They were unlucky not to win the match late on through Danny Whitaker.
