Nathan Forbes-Swindells became an instant hero after signing for Stocksbridge from Sheffield FC.
He came off the bench to grab a last-gasp winner on his home debut to earn three precious points from a 4-3 victory over neighbours Frickley Athletic.
In a topsy-turvey match Steels led 1-0 and 2-1 before Frickley came back to lead 3-2 after two goals in two minutes midway through the second half. Steels other scorers were Brett Bowden-Lovell, Danny South and Nathan Jones.
In a nervy six minutes of time added on Scott twice came to Steels rescue tipping a Luke Jeffs free kick over the bar then pushing Jake Picton’s effort over the top from the resulting corner.
It brought Stocksbridge only their second league win at Bracken Moor and lifted them three-points clear of the drop zone.
For the second time in the space of three days Sheffield FC came from two goals down to draw 2-2, Jamie Hadfield scoring twice inside the last 18 minutes at Nantwich Town.
Alex Taylor gave Vics a 51st minute lead and Josh Amiss scrambled home the second. Hadfield headed in from close range after Karl Colley’s free-kick struck the bar. And with five minutes remaining Hadfield nodding in his and Club’s second.
Worksop Town went down 3-2 at Blyth Spartans as the hosts avenged an 8-1 drubbing at Sandy Lane in October.
Liam Mettam latched onto a long clearance to give the Tigers a 57th minute lead. But Blyth hit back to score three times in the last 20 minutes with Ashley Burbeary’s second for the Tigers in stoppage tie too late to affect the outcome.
Matlock Town beat AFC Fylde 2-1 with goals from Joe Leesley and Massiah McDonald.
