Steels out of FA Cup after loss to lower league team

Stocksbridge Park Steels crashed out of the FA Cup beaten 3-0 in their qualifying round replay at struggling Evo-Stik League One Ramsbottom United.

Owen Roberts gave the hosts a 23rd minute lead from a 20 yard free-kick. Steels had a goal ruled out for offside after sub Joel Igenzoa rounded the keeper only for Matt Hamshaw to be deemed offside despite being on the floor injured. Roberts grabbed his second five minutes into the second half with Jon Roberts completing Steels’ misery.

Worksop Town won their replay 4-0 at Bootle. Leon Mettam opened the scoring (penalty) Shane Clarke got the second. Mettam with his second penalty made it 3-0 with Tom Denton heading the fourth.

Dinnington crashed out of the NCE League Cup 4-1 at Teversal with JoJo Louey grabbing Town’s late consolation.

Resenting Main knocked out Louth 4-3.

In the Premier Division, Worksop Parramore had a 3-1 home win over Bridlington Town, while Armthorpe Welfare picked up their first away points beating Lincoln Moorlands Railway 4-0.

Worsbrough Bridge Athletic ended Shaw Lane Aquaforce’s hundred percent away record with an excellent 1-0 victory. Chris White with the decisive goal eight minutes into the second half.
