SHEFFIELD Wednesday’s Chris O’Grady was the club’s hero at Burnley this evening - but he had to play second fiddle to opponent Charlie Austin.
Striker Austin scored first for the Lancastrians on 22 minutes.
That was cancelled out within a minute by O’Grady.
The Owls defence were certainly struggling to contain Austin.
The forward got his second for Burnley after turning in a cross.
All in all, it wasn’t a bad first half for the Owls, other than their ability to obstruct the supply of dangerous crosses.
Wednesday attempted to up the pressure in the second session.
Jay Bothroyd forced a save from Lee Grant, but then 26-year-old striker O’Grady coolly rounded the keeper to level.
Owls fans saw an away draw, or even a win, in the making.
Yet it seemed it wasn’t to be, with Austin grabbing a tasty goal for his hat-trick.
It wasn’t over though and Michail Antonio made it 3-3.
