NILE Ranger is keen to help Wednesday reach the Championship and glad to get the chance of putting his career back on the up.
The Owls’ new striker has experienced one promotion with Newcastle but has played few games for them and this season was out for 12 weeks after suffering an ankle injury during a loan spell at Barnsley.
Now he aims to play a key part in Wednesday’s promotion campaign and believes the club will be well equipped to thrive in the next division up, should they get there.
“This club is bigger than some in the Championship,” said the 20-year who made his debut as a sub in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Leyton Orient. “I’’ve done my research. It’s good to be here.”
First impressions are favourable for the man who was in the Newcastle squad that went up to the Premier League in 2010: “There are good players here, a good bunch of lads. The banter and the vibes are good. Hopefully we can get up there (into the Championship). We’re second. But anything can happen.”
