REDA Johnson believes that Sheffield United are bound to slip up at some stage so Wednesday must make sure they are in a position to take advantage.
The defender also feels that victory at fellow promotion rivals Huddersfield today for the Owls would be a big boost as they chase leaders Charlton and the Blades, who are two points clear in second place.
“We want to be promoted; this is the main objective,” he said. “Maybe Charlton will slip a bit; we don’t know. It’s only six games to play.
“Second spot would be fantastic, with United playing very well this season, so congratulations to them. But it’s not finished. They can slip and hopefully we will have the maximum points to take second spot.
“If we win every game, I am sure they will definitely miss one. So we have to stay focused on our game.”
The left back is looking forward to a “big game” at the Galpharm Stadium: “United will hope we slip up. We have to do the job as we have in.
“At this moment of the season we have to win. After that it will be the same on Monday (at home to Oldham, 12.45 kick-off) and every weekend.”
Johnson also said that Easter will not be decisive: “United have some tough games, like MK Dons away, so it will not be easy for them, but it is the same for us: we have games such as Colchester and Brentford away.”
Johnson was injured when Dave Jones took over but he has regained the left back spot from Julian Bennett and scored his seventh goal of the season.
Now he is pushing for double figures but said:“My job is defending. If I can score, it’s a bonus.”
