SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY: Dave Jones orders Owls to keep momentum going

DAVE Jones is looking for a flying start from the Owls against Blackpool at Hillsborough tonight.

Players will be under orders not to repeat the slow opening to last Saturday’s game against Peterborough.

“We have to be up tempo from the start of every game; we have to keep the momentum going,” says Jones, looking for a third win in a row.

“There’s been a good atmosphere around the place for a long time, and I think that’s because the players felt and knew that something was starting to happen.”

Jones is not concerned whether or not managerial turmoil will affect Blackpool for good or ill.

“If players think that the prospect of a new manager gives them that bit extra, so be it. More importantly, it’s about what we do.

“It will be a tough game, They have gone through a lean spell; they were top a few weeks ago, but if we get maximum points we’ll be level on points with them; it just shows what a crazy division it is.

“Our performance on Saturday was probably our worst for the first 45 minutes, yet we ended up winning the game.”

Jose Semedo said: “We played Blackpool last season; I followed them in the play-off games; they’re a top team. It does not matter that they have lost a few games and lost their manager - they have unbelievable players.

“It will be another tough one for us. We hope we go on a good run of wins.

“If we keep doing what we have been doing in the last two games, we should get the result.

“It’s been good to get that winning feeling again.

“The only team who were better than us were Brighton - they were a good side. In other games we have been a bit unlucky.

“We have kept doing good things and now results are coming.”
