With Dave Jones reasoning Sheffield Wednesday are playing better away from home than at Hillsborough, the Owls boss will reckon his side have a perfect opportunity to confirm that feeling against troubled Birmingham City at St.Andrews.
Just as Wednesday are coming off the back of their poorest performance of the season in the 1-1 draw with 10 man Yeovil, so are Birmingham musing over the worst display of their dreadful start, a 3-0 beating at Burnley on Tuesday.
“When we go away we seem to play better football but whereas when we are at home we seem to freeze,” Jones commented.
Now, the Owls boss will be hoping they can recapture the sort of form which garnered points at Leeds and Middlesborough in the last two away games when they look to cash in on a Birmingham side who are coming under pressure from their own fans.
They have not won any of their three home games so far - losing two and drawing one - and Jones will expect his players to take full advantage of Birmingham’s difficulties and the belief that the Blues will come under pressure from disgruntled fans if things aren’t going right.
