PORTUGAL and Scotland will be among the Wednesday team’s pre-season destinations but there will also be a fans’ invasion of Doncaster Racecourse.

The club are organising a day for familites there on Father’s Day, June 17,

It marks a new partnership between the Owls and the course, who for every booking will give £1 to a charity of the club’s choice.

There will be an appearance by Hillsborough mascot Ozzie Owl and a funfair. There are also hospitality and sponsorship opportunities, and fans will be able to name a race - which could be popular on Father’s Day - and present the trophy to the winning owner.

Wednesday commercial director Andy Daykin said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Owls fans to take a sea of blue and white to our region’s racecourse for a fun day out and to celebrate a great season.

“With prices starting from just £6 and under-18s going free, it is great value and there will be something for all the family to enjoy.”

Racecourse managing director Mark Spincer said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Sheffield Wednesday to host what I am sure will be a fantastic day out for all of the family.

“With great entertainment lined up, as well as some fantastic sponsorship opportunities, we expect the Family Day to be really popular, so I would urge people to book online or call us to book their ticket for the day.”
