DAVE Jones has bemoaned his Wednesday team’s exit from the FA Cup admitting: “We didn’t do enough.”

The Owls’ boss felt that his team lacked attacking drive and needlessly conceded the goals that handed MK Dons a 2-0 win.

The defeat was compounded by the early withdrawal of Jermaine Johnson, with a back problem. But it is hoped that he will be fit for Saturday’s home game against Wolves.

Jones made seven changes last night and explained that he rested various players who were carrying knocks. He said: “We put out a side that I thought was good enough to get a result. We have to look forward more. We kept going sideways or back. We weren’t as forward thinking as we should have been.

“I’m disappointed and I have told the players that. We didn’t do enough to go through. I am just really annoyed that we have gone out. He also said the referee “had a shocker.”

Wednesday’s match with Nottingham Forest on March 2 has been selected for live coverage by Sky Sports (5:20pm).
