Kieran Lee has set his sights on promotion to the Premier League after inspiring Sheffield Wednesday’s latest come-from-behind win.

The in-form midfielder, who joined Wednesday in May 2012, celebrated his 150th appearance in fine fashion in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough.

The 28-year-old was the hero, scoring twice in the second half, with his second coming in added on time, to ensure he scooped the man of the match award.

Victory moved last season’s Play-Off finalists up to 11th, just two points shy of the play-off positions.

Lee told The Star: “Everyone knows what we want. We have got to try and push for promotion. That’s everyone’s target.

“We will take it game by game and see where we are in a couple of months.

“It’s a little bit early to start looking at the league table. Hopefully we can pick up a couple of wins before the international break and see where we are.

“I’m sure we will be there or thereabouts.”

Buoyed after claiming their third straight home win, Carlos Carvalhal’s men head to lowly Blackburn Rovers tomorrow night targeting a first success on the road this term.

“It will be difficult,” stressed Lee. “Away from home is difficult wherever you go.

“Last season, we struggled against teams that weren’t doing so well but we will go to Blackburn believing we can win.”

Wednesday will be hoping Tom Lees (fever) and Barry Bannan (foot) are available for selection after being forced off in the second half last weekend.

Daniel Pudil is also closing in on a return to first team action and could be fot in time for the match at Ewood Park.
