Sheffield Wednesday are expected to be handed a double boost ahead of their final Championship match of the season at Ipswich Town.
Sam Hutchinson will be available for selection again, having served a two-match suspension for his sending-off at Bournemouth. Hutchinson, on loan from Chelsea, is set to return to his parent club following the trip to Portman Road.
The Owls could also welcome back leading goal-scorer Chris Maguire, who missed Saturday’s 3-1 Hillsborough loss to Bolton Wanderers because he was given leave to attend his grandmother’s funeral.
Stuart Gray, the Owls head coach, felt the team missed Maguire’s “bubbly character” and enthusiasm, with and without the ball, against Bolton.
The Wednesday chief, who gave a senior debut to promising Owls youngster Jack Stobbs, said: “He [Maguire] gets a hold of the ball and demands more from his teammates.”
Having lost four of their last seven league matches, Gray is aiming to restore some pride when they take on 10th-placed Ipswich.
He conceded: “It’s a big game for us. We’ve got to get some credibility back.”
