Owls loanee Jordan Spence has pinpointed one of the areas which the club have got to improve if they are to move away from the lower reaches of the Championship table.
The full-back, whose loan deal at Hillsborough is set to expire after their South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers this weekend, has acknowledged that the team must be more ruthless when they get their noses in front in games.
Dave Jones side, lying in 21st position in the standings, have taken the lead in five out of their opening seven league fixtures but are still searching for their maiden win.
Spence, on loan from West Ham, said: “You can’t surrender winning positions that easily and that needs to be addressed.”
The young full-back says Wednesday’s squad are determined to make amends following their 4-1 thrashing at Birmingham City last weekend.
“We are all hungry to put it right,” said Spence, who has started the last three matches. “The last experience of us being out on the field was not a pretty one or an enjoyable time. No one came off that pitch feeling good about themselves.
“This week has been about seeing the issues, addressing them and being better.
