Stuart Gray is calling on his players to turn in a strong performance at Fulham this afternoon to thank the supporters who will be turning out in force at Craven Cottage.

Around 4,000 Wednesdayites will descend on the capital today and Gray wants to send them home with an early Christmas present.

He said: “Wherever we go, the following is unbelieveable.

“I think back to Middlesbrough, to Brighton and even Bournemouth last season.

“They travel in their thousands. We really appreciate it.

“We’re very lucky to have such a following and the away clubs are probably delighted as well.

“Hopefully we can put on a good show because we do appreciate the effort, time and commitment of the supporters.”

Key to the Owls’ fortunes today is managing the threat of Fulham’s strike duo Hugo Rodallega and Ross McCormack, something Gray knows to be the case.

He said: “If we can keep them quiet and out of the box, as we did with Rhodes and Gestede at Blackburn, I’m very confident we’ll get a good result.

“Fulham have been a little bit inconsistent. We need to start right and start well on the back of them losing their last home game 5-0.

“We don’t fear them, we’re looking forward to the challenge and getting a result.”
