Sam Hutchinson says he and his Sheffield Wednesday team mates are more than capable of coping with the ‘favourites’ tag, which will hang around them for the majority of games this upcoming campaign.
An excellent last season has placed the Owls in a position to be shot down and with the surprise element they may have had, now gone, the challenge is going to be very different in 2016/17.
However, Hutchinson has praised the squad assembled by Carlos Carvalhal and feels they have the qualities throughout, to deal with every eventuality.
“With the squad we’ve got and the players we’ve got and the way we play, then definitely (they can cope with being favourites in games),” he said.
“We are very capable of passing teams off the pitch or digging in and grinding results out. I think we have the players to do both sides of the game and we are very confident as a group.”
And Hutchinson can’t wait to get the seas0n started tomorrow against Aston Villa.
“Pre-season has gone fantastic, you’ve seen in our performances, we’ve had some good games, we all feel fit and fingers crossed it all goes well on Sunday,” he added.
