Brentford (17) v Sheff Wed (15)

Injury-hit Brentford could be without 10 first-team players.

Marinus Dijkhuizen's side sit 17th in the table heading into the clash at Griffin Park, where James Tarkowski could come back into contention after a calf complaint.

Akaki Gogia (thigh), Philipp Hofmann (abdominal) and Maxime Colin (knee) are absent, so too are Sam Saunders (calf) and Lewis Macleod (hamstring).

Summer signings Josh McEachran (foot) and Andreas Bjelland (knee) remain long-term absentees, as do Jota (ankle) and Scott Hogan (knee).

However, there is a chink of light in the form of Marcos Tebar's return to the matchday squad after the midfielder this week played for the development squad having recovered from a hamstring injury.

Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal is expected to make wholesale changes after making 10 alterations for the 1-0 Capital One Cup triumph at Newcastle, when defender Tom Lees was the only player to retain his place following last weekend's home win against Fulham.

Forward Fernando Forestieri is hoping to shake off a hamstring strain - he was ineligible in midweek anyway - while Carvalhal has no new injury or suspension problems.
