There weren’t so many games for our local clubs last Saturday - but there were still some excellent results.

We now face the final weekend for many clubs - and I suspect that many will be looking forward to a rest after an unprecedented fixture pile-up of late.

In the Evo-Stik Premier Division, I was at The Look Local Stadium to watch Stocksbridge Park beat fellow strugglers Kendal Town 5-3, with goals from Alex Callery, Nathan Joynes, Nick Swirad, Alec Denton and Danny South.

Then on Tuesday they entertained fellow strugglers Nantwich Town and again hit the five-goal mark, running out 5-2 victors with strikes from South, Swirad, Nicky Darker, Richard Haigh and Tommy Agus.

In Division One South, Sheffield FC - without a defeat in eight games - crashed 5-1 at Chase Town.

On Tuesday they were back at the B.T. Local Business Stadium to entertain Newcastle Town and bounced back with a 1-0 win, courtesy of Jack Muldoon.

Worsbrough Bridge are sixth in the Baris North Counties East League First Division, after drawing 2-2 with Dinnington Town last Thursday.

That result meant that they ended their home campaign unbeaten, from 21 games.

On Tuesday evening, Dinnington visited the much improved Selby Town and once again paid the price for failing to find the net, losing 1-0.

In the Premier Division, Maltby Main got back to winning ways against neighbours Staveley with a 3-1 success.

Worksop Parramore went down 3-0 at third-placed Bridlington Town, but Parkgate beat Nostell Miners Welfare 3-0.

Nostell then gained some revenge on Tuesday evening, when they beat Parramore 2-1 despite Lee Whittington’s goal.

On Tuesday night, Parkgate crashed to a surprise 3-2 defeat at bottom-placed club Arnold Town.

Parkgate were 2-0 down at one stage and despite goals from Sam Smith and Tom Roebuck, they slumped to a disappointing loss.

Staveley crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Maltby Main.
