rotherham achieved a third straight win with sub Kieran Agard striking the decisive goal.
It was only a single goal victory but the Millers had been convincing though without adding the goals. In stoppage time Revell struck a good chance over the top and Rotherham really should have had more to show for their efforts.
Yet it hardly got off to a successful start...
There was a pre-match injury blow to Ainsworth, who injured his arm then Rotherham suffered another one after just a couple of minutes.
Tonge challenged Cowan-Hall right by the corner flag, cleared the ball into touch but his collision with the Plymouth man saw the right back stay down and hold his right knee.
After lengthy treatment he was carried off and Bradley went on at right back.
Arnason, once of Plymouth, caused problems with a long throw but Evans missed a chance on the volley as the ball dropped.
However, he was on target with a piledriver shortly afterwards which Cole desperately pushed away. Then good goalkeeping denied the Millers.
Firstly Frecklington pounced following a long throw and his volley was turned aside by Cole at full stretch.
Then the Plymouth keeper did even better by tipping Pringle’s 20 yarder round the post.
From the ensuing corner Revell got in a header which brought a reflex save from Cole and the visitors survived.
Arnason thought he had scored against his former club when he headed in from a corner but the ref had spotted some pushing by Nardiello inside the six yard area.
Just past the hour Evans was replaced by Agard.
Then, on 73 minutes Rotherham took the lead which was overdue but deserved.
Pringle found Revell who sent Nardiello up the right. He got to the line, delivered a low cross and it was sub AGARD who side-footed in at the near post.
